Which one is Effective: Banner Advertising or SEO?

There are wide variety of techniques with which you can improve your search engine marketing campaigns. When I first started using the Internet, I was very satisfied by having banners placed on other websites like mine to attract visitors to my web pages and convert them into sales. Therefore, I personally worked hard to design an amazing banner that can attract as many people as possible. Many websites came up asking me to place my banners on their pages. I was very disappointed by the response, and even though I was informed that the click rate was good, I found my conversion rate still being the same as before. I had to look for new ways to improve the number of visitors to my website. I approached an SEO firm to strengthen my links. They utilized link building techniques along with others and improved my web rankings in major search engines. It, thus, helped me in diverting more traffic, in fact a potential one, to my pages. Unfortunately the majority of Internet users never click on banner ads. Excessive use of banner ads in recent times has arisen this situation, known as ‘banner blindness’, wherein a large number of users simply ignore the banner ads. Since their first creation, new techniques have come up that proves to be powerful. The issue with banner ad, against SEO, is that they can never be targeted by Internet users while searching for a term; instead they are simply present on other sites and even if the user may have visited a similar site, there is a little chance of getting a click on a banner to read what they could see having a very similar information. With SEO, all the links are targeted at people who are actively looking for the relevant information at that exact moment. I worked with an SEO company that helped me in creating content which included links of my own website and also others over the Internet. With keywords carefully researched and content expertly created, I could see an increase in the amount of traffic to my site and my site rising higher in the major search engine results. The organic links are very helpful, and in spite of time consumed in all this, it was actually worth to wait for long-term results. Banner ads must have seen better days, but I think it’s simply a waste of time due to its poor results. SEO, however, gives a much better results than I expected. So, you decide how you want to go – banner advertising or SEO!
